Advice on multi-screen sync for art installation

Hello- I am a film artist making a 3-screen HD(1080p) project. I am hoping to find a cheap but reliable way to sync three HD streams (prores 422, but could change codec) for a video installation with Dolby surround sound. I was just going to use three computers and do a hard human sync (press play on three keyboards at the same time), but I see it's possible to get frame accurate sync with Modul8. I really need some dialogue with people who have experience with using it to understand what kind of setup I need. I am currently using a machine with these specs but could borrow/rent a better machine if needed:

either:

use one computer and a triple head2go and output a 3 screen wide clip at lower res and scale up - you;d be surprised how good it looks...

or use 3 macs and Qlab and sync them via timecode
you can rent Qlab for $3 a day...

syncing three computers outputting three hd streams is not really that simply, especially that You need surround sound as well. Qlab seems to be the way to go, other solution is try to find some skilled vvvv / puredata coder to work with You on that.

Thanks, I'm checking out Qlab then we don't have to rent a mac pro. Have you used it before? What's it like in practice syncing video? What links the computers?

I was considering modul8 with triplehead2go, but perhaps this is not necessary.

At this moment, Qlab looks better since then I can get higher resolution streams AND sync.
