i have volunteered to do an av performance at LPM - primarily because i didn't want to rely on someone elses music to go with my visuals - which is always hit and miss at best. however, i've never had to worry about my own sound before. i was hoping to have a premixed track for 30 min. still working on that too.
anyone got any tips on how to best play this out ( i dont want to bring 2 laptops) any things i need to be aware of?

I would suggest that you burn the sound track on a CD or DVD disk and play it back in a CDJ / DVJ player - this is very reliable and will let you get on with the VJ part without worrying about the audio going wrong.
If you make a DVD then you can include a synchronized visuals track to include in your VJ mix. This will give you tightly synced audio and video for moments when it is important and the freedom to improvise visuals over the top.
