And we are based in (mostly) North/East London.
I am really interested in exploring the meeting of VJing and jazz. For improvising musicians, VJing has a lot of appeal compared to working with 'standard' film because of the linear, time-scale freedom it affords.
What I would really like to do is to commission an animator/film artist to create film to tell a story, but designed to be easily manipulated by a VJ for live performance.
I am currently applying for funding, but this would really be helped by having a film artist/VJ on board. Depending on the outcome of the funding application, this could easily be either a relatively short or long term project - but I would like to pursue this with or without funding.
At this stage, I am looking for any interested parties, and any advice you might be offer in terms of who to contact, where to look, how long it might take to both create film and prepare it for performance, and whether it would be better to look for one visual artist to fill all the roles or whether a team of two (or more!) would be best.
Also, how much money is it going to take?!
