Londons new Digital Arts & Culture Festival unveils its Line-up and curated theme:
Visionary Cities

Alpha-ville, the new London organisation dedicated to digital arts and culture, have teamed up with one of the capitals most established contemporary galleries the Whitechapel Gallery, along with east Londons newest cultural centre, the Rich Mix Cultural Foundation to produce this new visionary and innovative 2-day festival, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th September 2010 on the theme of Visionary Cities.
The ethos of Alpha-ville is defined as exploding the vibrant digital-scene onto an international festival platform, showcasing creatives from the various disciplines this genre generates for artists and audiences alike to thoroughly get excited about what they do!
Presenting over two-days worth of groundbreaking
live music and visual performances including live
electronic music, live-cinema performances,
installations, 3D visual performances, a
moving-image competition and a screening programme. The directors have made a specific point of workingmwith musicians who present their work live.
Alpha-ville invites artists to collaborate through live interventions, audio-visual performances,
installations as well as submitting films for screenings. It encourages audiences to engage through social media tools, as well as immerse themselves in the many live-digital performances. Attendees will be able to engage with the virtual, as well as the real.

DIGITAL SCREENINGS
Architectural projection mapping:
A selection of leading artists focusing on enhancing the architecture and creating a relationship with it through the use of contemporary technologies. Clearly stepping away from standard setups & techniques these artists present live performances and installations projected on to historic and grandiose buildings, creating an immersive and intensely sensory experience that questions the spatial preconception of the spectator.

Bartletts Unit 15 Showcase with Nic Clear [UK] Showcase of work by the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) final year students curated and presented by Nic Clear - course Director. Unit 15 is a postgraduate design unit that specialises in the use of film, CGI, animation and motion graphics to explore and investigate new forms of architecture.

Digital Music Technology Workshop for girls aged 14-19. Held at the Whitechapel Gallery. [UK]

and society of tomorrow through the eyes of pioneering digital artists who have made use of the latest technology to explore social, emotional and environmental issues. are transforming human relations and the built environment and there are increasing concerns for the future of urban spaces and society. The 2010 festival will provide a space for reflection on this theme."
