BFI Southbank and AV label Ne1co invite Blank Canvas to Dark Fibre, to present a special edition of eclectic, contemporary, classical and experimental music, as well as video program. Will Dutta's Blank Canvas project features some of the brightest young things in the UK music scene, performing within the NFT-1 cinema theatre.
This not-to-be-missed showcase includes: Warp Records' and British Composer Award-winner Mira Calix combined with visualist Quayola and cellist Oliver Coates to present a live rendition of their multimedia piece 'Natures'; pianist GéNIA performs music by Gabriel Prokofiev, Max de Wardener and Somei Satoh and experimental musician and member of the formidable Flat-E visual collective, Ultre presents a special live audiovisual set with drummer Alvin Ryan.
More live performances to follow in the main foyer space, with the UK premiere of Montreal-based video artist Yan Breuleuxs ABC Light series, an extended version of "Breathe", by DrMo and InputJunkie, and finally immersive deep tech AV dance grooves from Rebel Overlay and Ste-V-Something, and musical interludes once more assured by Dark Fibres resident DJ Phil Dudman.
