Cheap, easy to use realtime rendering software

I'm looking for an entry-level realtime rendering software which I can use to record visuals, and then overlay this on my other stuff. Anything out there with easy interface and ability to record output to work with in Vegas? For what it's worth, I'm more looking for wireframe / equaliser type visuals rather than crazy fractal-type stuff. Cheers!

P.S. Working on Vista, so Zuma is out!
