YO London Vj's!
wow I can't believe that it took me this long to find you all here :)
well I'm always late so I guess that's quite good for start to introduce myself innit? lol
alrite, so I'm originally from South Spain (Granada)
where I started messing around with electronic music and video games since I was a kid. Then few years after working as a dj I moved to Madrid where I studied at the film school and where in 2001-03 I started to play visuals in some of the biggest Madrid nightclubs for later on by summer 2003 move to London.
Since I came to London, I spent most of my time getting my degree at the university of the Arts London (BA Graphic Design- Moving Image pathway) and looking around but by the end of 2007 I've started to play in nightclubs again (East London mainly).
Last year (2008) was really good
with an about 3-4 gigs per month,
3 residencies in clubs like Egg, 333 and Images,
some nice press bits and some gigs in cities like Berlin and Paris,
made my year a very busy one but full of great experiences.
Now, the biggest surprise (for me) of all was
that I managed to achieve all this using ONLY
a powerbook g4 mac laptop running Arkaos
and a keyboard-midi controler.
My style is mainly based in all the internet trash founded
on posted videos around the web mainly from sites like youtube,
then on my studio I edit them using final cut or aftereffects and finally I mix them on my live sets.
I've been playing lately with wii remote controllers
and softwares like VDMX, AVENUE and the new arkaos release GrandVJ but since I'm still very short of cash I haven't managed yet to incorporate more hardware on my set.. which Id love to.
Finally and unfortunately,
I'm totally disconnected from the London VJ scene,
but I'm hoping now that thanks to this forum
we will all get in touch very soon.
