Ah-ha!... this is what I saw Gui Boratto playing with at The End the other month. Looks extremely cool, and from the website I see these things have multitouch capability - unlimited multitouch, not just two fingers!
Yeah, I had a long play with one last year in the emerging technologies area at Siggraph, and spent a good half hour chatting to one of the devs.
Its quite low resolution (about 800x600 I think), and slightly lower res in terms of input accuracy, but its really reactive and very nice to play with.
There is an API for building interfaces using their own toolkit which is pretty slick and the device sends out OSC commands when you tinker with the gui you've made (I think maybe midi output aswell). They had all the usual sliders buttons etc, but also some really nice physics based stuff too.
Main issue is that these are really pretty expensive at Ł1700 list!
