Next VJ meeting - Thursday - 9th of October - Café 1001

The VJ meeting is back next Thursday at a new venue: cafe 1001 – very close to our old hangout the big chill bar. We are in the large room at the back with comfy couches. The venue is open till 12 and I will reserve a table for us as usual so we can all sit.

Thanks to Garry we will also have a three projector setup with triple head input. This means we will be able to project stunning panoramic visuals in high resolution directly from a single VGA output. So if you have any content that would work with this or want to prepare something between now and then please do so and bring it along on Thursday (and ideally let me know if you want to VJ and for how long). This is a chance to really show off some amazing visuals. Music wise we will be VJ'ing to tunes from DJ Largo (Beiak Records) who is playing minimal tech/house allegedly.

having cased the joint with the good doctor, we now have a plan..

candidates for the Th2go showdown, pay attention...

you will be required to bring your own laptop, that has sufficient vram to run the Th2go - I'd say 128mb and higher..., you can run it with 64mb but it isn't much fun.

you will be provided with a DVI or VGA connector.

your workspace will be 4:1 and I would suggest either compositing live or preparing 4:1 content . The projectors are 1024x768 native.
you will probably find it easier to make content at 50% of this - that is 1536 x 384 and scaling it up.

we plan to have 3 screens in a row butting up to each other making one screen along one wall. at the moment there are red curtains, if we are lucky there may be a 12m x 3m gauze - if anyone who is coming has one they can bring along, please tell Dr Mo and turn up early..
