Saturday 27 September is full of activities and events for all. Start with a free screening of the wonderfully restored Mitchell and Kenyon in Ireland, glorious early cinema experiments with live accompaniment; then drop into the studio to see familiar faces sharing their favourite films with you. Film London also invites family film teams to attend a film-making workshop run by Cineclub, helping them plan a 3-minute film using a location along the South Bank. In the evening we collaborate with our friends at The Big Chill festival to present spectacular live performances exploring the themes of memory and time, with featured artists including D-Fuse, Exceeda, and Future Loop Foundation. And if you still don't want to go home then settle into the BFI IMAX for all-night screenings of time-travel classics, including Back to the Future II, Terminator 2, Highlander and Twelve Monkeys.

PLATFORM X
An hour-long multi-screen train themed audiovisual show. Combining archive British Rail footage from the BFI, motion graphics, textures, and live AV compositions of Exceeda tracks. Viewers AKA Passengers are transported through a rhythmically lead cinematic journey, stopping at various destinations on the way.
The show is conducted via 2 laptops, 3 DVJs and 4 vision mixers, with musical styles ranging from classical scores, through sample-structured soundscapes, to beat driven original AV tracks.
Following up the success of the BFI programme at this year's fabulous Big Chill festival, we have invited the Big Chillers to join in the 75th celebration with a night of film remix, bumping bass lines and blissed out bleeps.
AV alchemists Exceeda perform the London premiere of their brand new BFI commissioned show 'Platform X', a cinematic journey through British railway history, complete with a chugging electro to techno soundtrack.
Maintaining momentum with the archive remix theme, AV pioneers DFuse will perfom a live version of their installation piece 'A London Conversation', a multi screen collage of London on film, using material from the Mediatheque's 'London Calling' collection. Both shows will feature live strings by dynamic duo Chi2.
Topping the bill is the inimitable Big Chiller, the legendary Tom Middleton, quite simply one of the best DJs in the world, accompanied by Big Chill visuals maestros Myogenic plus festival faves Animat (known for their audio reinterpretations of films) will be opening the evening with a DJ set.
You can also dance in nostalgic decadence at our 20s-40s evening, the White Coffin Club, experience beloved Mitchell and Kenyon classics on the big screen, or take part in interactive film Talkaoke. With special guests, children's workshops at Film Funday, a Family Film Challenge, and deals at our fantastic bars and restaurants - the BFI is a great place to spend your weekend and every day in-between!
