I will be starting university in north london (middlesex) in the next 2 weeks, and so far all attempts at finding somewhere to live have failed.
The university accomodation people havent managed to find me a place in the halls. Their private accomodation listings are pretty poor- most of them only want females or 900 a month in rent.
If you know of anyone with a room/bed/pelican case where i can stay then please send me the details

hmmmmm.... the university are shite, they dont even have a list of local
estate agents or anything. we got our house through Lets Estate Agents in
Enfield, who have lots of cheapish places in the area- but i dont know
about for one person as we always looked as a group. there is also peter
barry who was our estate agent in the 2nd year who are based in winchmore
hill. there are also often cards in the window of hunters newsagent in
winchmore hill, if you let me know what he is looking for i could ask one
of my old housemates to go and look and pass any promising ad details on?
I am not very helpful really as to be honest, both times the house hunting
part of uni was going on, i managed to be in another country so i left my
friends to it and came back to a nice shiny house both times!! lucky me.

so that's not so helpful but seems about right to me - you'll have to go and hunt around or try and find some other homless students to look for a big house with.
