As some of you know I'm organising a visuals heavy monthly event at the Vibe Lounge, upstairs at the Vibe Bar. Its a great space and ideally suited for our purposes with a big screen and projector in place, sound system and stage.
The event will be held on Sundays, the exact times are yet to be confirmed but it will probably run from 4pm-11:30pm. I have 3 dates secured starting on the 21st of September.
At this stage I'm looking for submissions of all kinds of stuff. From straight vjing to mapping projects, interactive stuff, AV and whatever else people come up with. What I have in mind is starting the sessions with more arty and experimental stuff switching over to more party focused performances as the evening progresses. If you have a dj/band/producer that you perform with or would like to have a particular kind of music that's great too. I have some dj's already but it would be good to have some more as its going to be a long event.
I'm also looking for people who want to get involved in the organisation of the event as its just me at the moment and there is a lot to do. I'm also looking for equipment. As I've said there is already one projector in place and I will be bringing mine along too but the more the merrier. I also have a triple head to go and Kaoss pad Entrancer. I'm looking into buying a V4 or V8 but at this stage I can't guarantee having one for the first event so if anyone is willing to share theirs that would be great. any other kit that you might have is welcome too.
There is no money involved in the first instance as I am funding everything at the moment and will be reinvesting profits (if any!) into the event. Hopefully if between us we make it work there will be payment for performers in the future. At present I'm unsure whether it will be free entrance to start of with to attract people or maybe a small fee/donation. It would be good to know what people think regarding this. I'll be getting no money from the vibe bar so no charge=no money for the event.
If you are interested in collaborating in any shape or form please get in touch asap as I will be organising a meeting to discuss everything sooner rather than later. I'm open to suggestions and ideas from the community so if you have any please let me know.
